Tidal Traces

Welcome to Tidal Traces. An art-for-purpose collaboration between Underwater Earth, Nick Wilkinson and Claudia Leonard, in partnership with Ocean Lovers Alliance.

Tidal Traces ran at the Volvo Ocean Lovers Festival, March 21-24, 2024.

You've heard of generative AI but have you heard of generative action? This involves the physical behaviours that promote the well-being of future generations. Tidal Traces explores the art between AI and what's left of our natural world. Through immersive installation, projection and sculpture, we hope to inspire and move you to leave our future generations with a world as beautiful as we've captured here.

What will you do to change the tide?

PREVENT OCEAN POLLUTION

  • Be mindful of your use of single-use and microplastics

  • Clean up your streets, parks, rivers and beaches; everything leads to the ocean

AVOID OVER-FISHING

  • Consume only sustainably sourced fish so depleted stocks can replenish

  • Support the global target of 30 x 30 fully marine protected (sanctuary) zones allowing our ocean to, once again, flourish

CURB OCEAN CHANGE

  • Reduce your carbon emissions

  • Encourage big business, government and community to take the global targets seriously

BE OCEAN CURIOUS

  •  Research, read, watch and learn more about the ocean - and if you can explore it too then great!

  • Understand its magic. Its importance. The issues it is facing. Encourage more to be done to change the tide.

SUPPORT UNDERWATER EARTH

  • Support our work that includes ocean exploration, education, science and conservation. Donate today.
